The DAPS boys and I have been working with (101.9RXP DJ) Rich Russo for a few months now; Knowing it was my birthday weekend Rich offered to play any song I chose on his show “Anything, Anything” which airs Sunday Nights from 9-11pm on RXP. After seriously considering my options for about a week I made a decision I was confident in.
Things I considered included requesting something that didn’t belong on a rock station like say, Will Smith, or something local that might not get attention, like a VF_DOS_, or going with something sentimental like Spoon’s “The Underdog” which had also been played at my request by WSIA DJ Andrew DiLorenzo when DAPS first started.
Ultimately I decided I’d rather use my selection to help promote my friends in No Standards, who were recently robbed. These dudes work really hard and deserved some shine on a station with some range. In the clip below, Rich first plays No Standards’ sole original track “Save Me” then goes on to talk about the band and wish me a happy birthday, Thanks Rich!
